When someone asks if they can have your heart, they are no different than asking you to give up your soul. Heart is often thought of as something that has little to nothing to do with the soul. That’s not completely true, however. The heart is part of our soul and it can be broken just like the rest of our body.

A person who asks you to give up your heart is asking you to give up part of yourself but what they don’t realize is that if you give up your heart they will get only half of you. This person will be left with a twisted version of who you are and it will be difficult for them to ever recover from the loss.
